Villa "King Mariout" reveals the dispute between the Egyptian national team coach and his wife
The relationship between the Egyptian national football team's coach, Hossam Hassan, and his wife, Dana Adam, is witnessing an escalating crisis that has turned from family disputes
The relationship between the technical director of the Egyptian national football team, Hossam Hassan, and his wife, Dana Adam, is witnessing an escalating crisis that has turned from family disputes into complex legal disputes related to the ownership of a villa in the King Mariout area of Alexandria, in addition to mutual accusations and posts that have sparked widespread controversy on social media.
The crisis arose when a person filed a report against Dana Adam accusing her of seizing a villa in King Mariout, claiming that he had rented it with an official contract from Hossam Hassan in March 2025.
According to reports, the villa is jointly owned, with Dana and her children owning 75% of the property, while Hossam owns 25%.
Dana refused to leave the villa, asserting her legal right to stay, which prompted the tenant to file a report against her (No. 2761, Amriya Second Administrative).
In contrast, Dana accused Hossam Hassan of trying to expel her from the villa with the help of people she described as "thugs," claiming that they broke into the place at night.
Dana had previously filed a similar complaint during Eid al-Adha 2024, but the two parties reached a temporary settlement, before the disputes were renewed in June 2025.
On June 21, 2025, Dana was surprised during the investigation into the villa case to find that there was an in absentia sentence issued against her for imprisonment for one month with bail of 500 pounds, in case No. 8760 of 2023, Misdemeanors of Ameriya II, on charges of assaulting Hossam Hassan, accompanied by a medical report, which aroused the displeasure of her family, who considered it an attempt to pressure her, especially after the announcement of reconciliation between the couple previously.
On June 22, 2025, Dana filed an objection to the default judgment in the Dekheila Court in Alexandria, and the prosecution decided to release her after paying bail of 500 pounds, with a session scheduled for July 15, 2025 to consider the objection.
On another note, Hossam Hassan, through his lawyer Akram Saleh, denied his direct involvement in the recent dispute, stressing that the villa is rented under an official contract, and that the dispute is between “Dana” and the tenant.
The lawyer explained in press statements that Hossam Hassan did not file any reports against his wife in the recent case, and that his presence in Cairo during the incident confirms that he had no direct involvement.
In a previous video in 2024, Dana confirmed that she married Hossam Hassan in 2015, and that their separation in 2022 lasted only 10 days. However, conflicting sources indicated a new separation, but as of June 2025, there was no official confirmation of their divorce, and Dana remained his legal wife.

Al-Ahly and Al-Jaish draw: Top spot, qualification, and riots
The match between Al-Ahly and the Royal Army ended in a goalless draw in the African Champions League, with Al-Ahly securing the top spot and the Royal Army qualifying as runners-up, amidst unfortunate riots in the stands.

The final match of Group B in the CAF Champions League, between Egypt's Al Ahly and Morocco's FAR Rabat, ended in a goalless draw on Sunday evening at Cairo International Stadium. Despite the lack of goals, the match was exciting and competitive, marred by some unfortunate incidents that marred the otherwise glaring African football spectacle.
With this strategic result for both teams, Al Ahly secured first place in Group B with 10 points, maintaining their unbeaten record in the group stage and giving them a slight advantage in the quarter-final draw. Meanwhile, FAR Rabat deservedly claimed the second qualifying spot, finishing second with 9 points, thus confirming their strong return to continental competition.
The match was marked by a noticeable tension, with the atmosphere in the stands turning sour and resulting in regrettable incidents involving water bottles and other projectiles being thrown onto the pitch. These actions led to an injury to a Royal Army player as he headed to the locker room after the halftime whistle, requiring medical attention and a temporary stoppage of play for assessment.
The transgressions didn't stop there. The continued throwing of projectiles caused play to be halted for several minutes during the second half before the match resumed amidst intensive efforts by security and organizers to contain the situation in the stands. Videos circulating on social media platforms documented the collective throwing of water bottles by some fans, a scene that sparked outrage among viewers and sports commentators due to its blatant disregard for sportsmanship.
These events are reminiscent of a similar scenario that unfolded during the two teams' encounter in the second round of the group stage in Morocco, which ended in a 1-1 draw. That match resulted in severe sanctions imposed by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Raja Casablanca, including playing two matches behind closed doors, due to similar fan misconduct. This raises questions about the potential penalties that might follow the events in Cairo.
In a broader context, this match is part of the "North African derbies" series, which are always characterized by extreme sensitivity and fierce competition, given the long history of rivalry between Egyptian and Moroccan clubs for dominance on the African continent. The fact that both teams have qualified for the quarterfinals is a testament to the strength of North African football and its dominance of the continental football scene in recent years.
The two teams are now awaiting the draw for the quarter-finals, with Al-Ahly, the record holder for the most wins in the tournament, aiming to regain the continental title, while the Royal Army seeks to continue its distinguished run and go far in the tournament, benefiting from the momentum it achieved in the group stage despite the difficulties it faced.

Al-Ahli youth team coach: Al-Ahli Saudi is like a Swiss watch
Paulo Sousa, the coach of Shabab Al-Ahli Dubai, described his Saudi Arabian rival Al-Ahli as a Swiss watch before their clash in the AFC Champions League, praising Al-Raed's strength after Shabab's five-goal victory.

Portuguese coach Paulo Sousa, manager of Shabab Al-Ahli Dubai, made fiery statements full of appreciation and respect for his upcoming opponent, Al-Ahli Saudi, just hours before the anticipated match between the two teams in the next round of the AFC Champions League, which is scheduled to be held at Al-Inma Stadium.
In the pre-match press conference, Souza emphasized the difficulty of the task against such a seasoned opponent, praising Al-Ahli's high level of skill. Speaking to the media, Souza said, "First, I would like to congratulate Al-Ahli on their outstanding performances last season. We are very happy to be facing a great team like Al-Ahli, a champion with a rich history in Asia.".
The Portuguese coach used an eloquent analogy to describe the technical and tactical state of his opponent, saying: “Tomorrow we face a very disciplined team. They operate like a Swiss watch, both in terms of collective performance and results,” in a clear reference to the high level of organization and harmony between the lines of the Saudi team under the leadership of its technical staff.
A huge morale boost for Al-Ahly before the Asian competition
Al-Ahli Saudi enters this match in high spirits, seeking victory against Shabab Al-Ahli Dubai to continue its winning streak and strengthen its position in both domestic and continental competitions. This match comes at a time when the team is enjoying a period of attacking brilliance, having secured a resounding victory in its last Saudi Professional League match against its neighbor, Al-Shabab.
The recent Riyadh derby ended with a resounding 5-2 victory for Al-Ahli, a result that sent a strong warning to all rivals and confirmed the club's readiness to compete on all fronts this season. Al-Ahli aims to capitalize on this high morale to secure points in their upcoming Asian Champions League match and take a significant step towards the knockout stages.
The importance of Asian elite matches
This match holds special significance as it falls within the new format of the AFC Champions League, which brings together the elite clubs of Asia. Saudi-Emirati encounters are always considered a "Gulf derby," characterized by intense rivalry and high fan turnout. Fans view this match as a true test of both coaches' abilities. Shabab Al Ahli will be looking to capitalize on home advantage and the support of their fans (or other surrounding circumstances) to achieve a positive result against one of the strongest contenders for the title, while Al Ahli Saudi aims to reaffirm its dominance and the formidable strength it has demonstrated domestically and translate that to the continental stage.
