English club Chelsea have announced the signing of American left-back Caleb Willie from Atlanta United, who compete in the American league, on a six-year contract.

Chelsea did not disclose the financial details of the contract, but British media reported that the deal was worth around £8.5 million ($11 million).

Willie (19), a graduate of the Atlanta Academy, made his MLS debut in 2022, playing 85 games and scoring 6 goals.

His first appearance for the United States was last year in a 1-1 draw with Mexico.

Willie is with the American team in Paris preparing for the Olympic Games.
