For the 40th time... Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals

Real Madrid set a new record in the UEFA Champions League for the most appearances in the quarter-finals

Real Madrid set a new record in the UEFA Champions League for the most appearances in the quarter-finals, after defeating Atlético Madrid 4-2 on penalties in the round of 16. This makes them the first club in the competition's history to reach the quarter-finals for the 40th time. The "Royal Club" has also reached this stage for the fifth consecutive season, according to a report published by RT. Real Madrid's journey to the quarter-finals was not without its challenges, as they achieved five victories but suffered three defeats that significantly impacted their progress in the tournament. Their first loss came in the second round, away to Lille, by a score of 1-0. In the fourth round, they suffered their second defeat, this time at home, against AC Milan (3-1). Their third loss came in the fifth round, against Liverpool at Anfield, by a score of 2-0.

Those three defeats made Real Madrid's journey in the tournament much more difficult and planted thorns in it, as they finished the first round in 11th place with 15 points.

Real Madrid therefore failed to qualify directly for the round of 16 among the top 8 teams, and had to go through the play-offs and take the more difficult path.

In a related context, the quarter-final matchups for the Champions League have been announced, with Real Madrid set to face a tough challenge against Arsenal.

Paris Saint-Germain of France will meet Aston Villa of England, while Barcelona of Spain will face Borussia Dortmund of Germany, and Bayern Munich of Germany will play against Inter Milan of Italy.

The first leg matches are scheduled to take place on April 8 and 9, while the second leg matches will be held on the 15th and 16th of the same month.

This signing is considered a significant addition to the Tigers' attack, with the coaching staff and Al-Ittihad fans placing great hope in the player's abilities to bolster the team's scoring prowess in the second half of the season.

In a related development, Al-Ittihad is intensifying its technical and physical preparations for its upcoming match against Al-Nassr in the Saudi Professional League. The derby, scheduled for 8:30 PM on Friday, February 6th, is part of the league's fixtures.
