Jordan eliminates the Muslim Brotherhood
Jordanian authorities dealt a decisive blow to the Muslim Brotherhood, and Jordanian Interior Minister Mazen Al-Faraya officially announced
The Jordanian authorities dealt a decisive blow to the Muslim Brotherhood, and the Jordanian Minister of Interior, Mazen Al-Faraya, officially announced the immediate enforcement of the provisions of the law against the so-called “Muslim Brotherhood” dissolved group, considering it an illegal association, and closing its offices and seizing its assets.
He said at a press conference today (Wednesday) that all activities of the Muslim Brotherhood have been banned, and that any activity by them, whatever its nature, is considered an act that violates the provisions of the law and warrants legal accountability.
Al-Faraya stressed the need to expedite the work of the dissolution committee tasked with confiscating the assets of the so-called dissolved Muslim Brotherhood group, both movable and immovable, in accordance with the relevant judicial rulings.
He emphasized that membership in the so-called dissolved group is now prohibited, as is promoting its ideology, and is subject to legal accountability. Al-Faraya announced the closure of any offices or premises used by the so-called Muslim Brotherhood throughout the Kingdom, even if in partnership with other entities, and stated that such activity will also be subject to legal accountability.
He called for preventing political forces, media outlets, various social media users, civil society organizations, and any other entities from dealing with or publishing anything related to the so-called dissolved Muslim Brotherhood and all its fronts and arms, under penalty of legal accountability.
He stressed that the necessary measures will be taken against any person or entity proven to be involved in criminal acts related to these cases or the dissolved group, in light of the results of the court's investigations into the cases before it.
The Interior Minister revealed that the dissolved group attempted, on the same night as the announcement of the chaos plans last week, to smuggle and destroy large quantities of documents from its headquarters to conceal its suspicious activities and connections.
He reported that after the announcement of the cases that targeted national security last week, an operation to manufacture and test explosives was uncovered by one of the sons of the leaders of the dissolved group and others who intended to target security agencies and sensitive sites inside the Kingdom.
Al-Faraya pointed out that these decisions were taken out of the state’s keenness to ensure the safety of our society and to protect it from actions that disrupt security and order and distort best political practices, and to preserve its security and stability.
He explained that the Jordanian state, throughout its history, has allowed all its citizens the freedom to form parties and associations, express their opinions, and engage in political activities in accordance with the law. However, it has been proven that members of the dissolved group, by virtue of final judicial decisions, have been working in the shadows and carrying out activities that would destabilize the country, tamper with security and national unity, and disrupt the security and public order system.
The minister stressed that what was revealed in terms of explosives and weapons that were moving between Jordanian cities and stored inside residential neighborhoods, as well as manufacturing and hiding missiles in the suburbs of the capital, and training and recruitment operations inside and outside the country, is something that no country can accept.
He warned that the continued practices of the dissolved group expose our society to a range of risks and threaten the lives of citizens, at a time when the state is striving to maintain security and stability and move forward with the development process in light of the challenges facing the region and the world.
He reiterated the government’s constant commitment to ensuring freedom of expression for all citizens within legal frameworks and the practice of responsible political action, in accordance with the Political Parties Law and other relevant legislation, without breaking the law or tampering with the nation’s security and stability and undermining its capabilities, “at a time when we are most in need of concerted and combined efforts to achieve what the honorable Jordanian people aspire to.”.
It is worth noting that the assets of the dissolved group, including real estate, hospitals, and educational institutions, are valued at approximately one and a half billion dollars.

The Kingdom's delegation was headed by Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Rassi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for International Affairs, on behalf of His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, underscoring the great importance Riyadh attaches to this strategic partnership.
Historical background and forum context
The Arab-Indian Forum is a vital institutional framework aimed at fostering dialogue and cooperation between the League of Arab States and India. The importance of the meeting and its expected impact

The US approves the sale of Patriot missiles to Saudi Arabia for $9 billion
The US State Department approves a massive deal to sell advanced Patriot PAC-3 MSE missiles to Saudi Arabia to bolster its defense capabilities against regional threats.
Approval of a strategic deal
The U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon) announced that the State Department has approved a potential sale of Patriot missile defense systems and related military equipment to Saudi Arabia. This strategic deal is valued at approximately $9 billion, reflecting its scale and importance in bolstering the Kingdom's defense capabilities.
Background and context of the deal
This approval comes within the framework of the longstanding defense cooperation between the United States and Saudi Arabia, which aims to ensure the security and stability of the Middle East region. The Kingdom faces increasing security challenges, including repeated ballistic missile and drone attacks targeting critical infrastructure and Saudi cities in recent years. The Patriot missile system is a cornerstone of Saudi Arabia's air defense strategy, having proven its effectiveness in intercepting and destroying hundreds of aerial threats.
Details of missiles and equipment
The Pentagon explained in its official statement that the Saudi request includes the purchase of 730 PAC-3 MSE missiles, the latest and most advanced generation of Patriot missiles. This model is distinguished by its high maneuverability and hit-to-kill technology, which ensures the destruction of the target through direct impact, making it highly effective against tactical ballistic missiles and advanced cruise missiles. The statement indicated that Lockheed Martin will be the prime contractor for the deal.
In addition to the missiles, the deal includes a comprehensive support package comprising kits to modify existing launch platforms to be compatible with the new PAC-3 MSE missiles, and advanced automated logistics systems for managing maintenance operations, tracking spare parts, and ensuring system readiness. It also includes telemetry equipment used to record missile performance data during tests and exercises, as well as specialized training programs for Saudi crews and technical and engineering support to ensure optimal system operation.
Strategic importance and impact
The significance of this deal lies in its substantial enhancement of the Kingdom's ability to protect its critical infrastructure, such as oil facilities and desalination plants, as well as its citizens and residents. Regionally, the deal strengthens the Kingdom's defense posture, bolstering its capacity to deter potential threats and contributing to regional stability. The U.S. Department of Defense has affirmed that this deal will not alter the fundamental military balance in the Middle East but rather aims to empower a strategic partner to defend itself, and will not negatively impact U.S. defense readiness.
