Giza police have solved the mystery of the disappearance of a Saudi businessman from his private villa, after his remains were found in garbage bags. It turned out that the perpetrator was his villa's guard, who killed him, cut up his body, and threw it in the garbage for the purpose of theft.
Major General Sameh El-Hemaily, Assistant Minister of Interior for Giza Security, issued an arrest warrant for the suspect and ordered a thorough investigation into the incident. This followed a report received by the Giza Operations Room from the victim's family confirming his disappearance from his villa in Sheikh Zayed City several days prior. Major General Mahmoud Abu Amra, Assistant Minister of Interior for Public Security, formed a search team under the supervision of Mohamed El-Sharkawy, Director of the Giza Criminal Investigation Department, to uncover the circumstances surrounding the disappearance. Investigations, inquiries, and information gathering, conducted by officers from the October Sector Investigations Department in coordination with the Public Security Sector, aimed to solve the mystery of the Saudi businessman's disappearance. The investigation also examined his relationships and disputes, in cooperation with Major General Hani Shaarawy, Director of Criminal Investigations in Giza. Surveillance footage revealed the missing businessman's villa guard attempting to withdraw money from a credit card belonging to the victim. Another video showed the guard purchasing black plastic garbage bags. Security forces apprehended the guard, who confessed to the crime, admitting that he coveted the victim's wealth and decided to kill him. After murdering him, he dismembered the body and buried the remains. The accused led the authorities to the location where the body was buried and the stolen items he had taken from the victim, which included gold, a sum of money, and five valuable watches.
For their part, relatives of the Saudi businessman confirmed that his funeral prayers and burial took place in Egypt, and that they are following the investigations. They indicated that the deceased was of good character and had business dealings in Egypt, enjoying good relations with many people there. They noted that just days before, he had given the killer a new mobile phone and a sum of money, as the killer had been working as a guard at his residence for several years.

Israeli authorities announced on Wednesday new and stricter restrictions on the access of Palestinian worshippers from the West Bank to the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound for Friday prayers during the holy month of Ramadan. Under the new decision, the number of worshippers allowed entry will be capped at 10,000 Palestinians, and only after obtaining prior security permits. This move has drawn widespread criticism and raised concerns about escalating tensions in the holy city.
According to a statement issued by the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), these measures followed a "security assessment of the situation," which resulted in the approval of daily permits exclusively for Fridays throughout the holy month. The age restrictions stipulate that entry is permitted for men aged 55 and over, women aged 50 and over, and children up to the age of 12, provided they are accompanied by a first-degree relative. All permits are subject to security approval.
In a procedural precedent, the statement indicated that worshippers are required to undergo "digital documentation" at crossings and military checkpoints, in order to guarantee and confirm their return to their places of residence in the West Bank at the end of the prayer day, adding a new procedural burden to the movement of people.
