The Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, Sheikh Dr. Abdul Latif bin Abdulaziz Al-Sheikh, stressed the importance of the role of pulpits in
The Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, Sheikh Dr. Abdul Latif bin Abdulaziz Al-Sheikh, emphasized the vital role of mosques in raising societal awareness. He stressed the need to protect them from those with destructive ideologies that distort Islam and incite discord. He affirmed the Ministry's commitment to ensuring that these pulpits serve as platforms for good, benefiting people, addressing their needs, and enhancing their awareness in all aspects. He added that these platforms should promote moderation and tolerance, reject violence, unite people in their loyalty to their leaders, and strengthen their love for and sense of belonging to their homeland. Al-Sheikh also acknowledged the significant support provided by the wise leadership, represented by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and his Crown Prince, Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, may God protect them, to the Ministry. This support enables the Ministry to fulfill its responsibilities in caring for and serving mosques, as well as its duty to guide, advise, and educate people on matters beneficial to them in this life and the hereafter. He emphasized the immense responsibility placed upon the employees of the Ministry's branch in the Al-Baha region and throughout the country, given the connection between their work and the mosques and the call to Islam. He stressed the importance of employees and mosque staff being mindful of this, considering it a reward from God Almighty, and knowing that He, in His infinite wisdom, will reward them for their efforts, which is far more valuable than any financial compensation. During his inspection visit yesterday to the Ministry's branch headquarters in the Al-Baha region, where he met with staff and inaugurated several maintenance projects and initiatives, Minister Al-Sheikh reviewed the branch's operations and the key services provided to visitors and beneficiaries, as well as those offered to mosque attendees. He also met with branch employees, listened to their needs and requirements to enable them to effectively fulfill the Ministry's mission and general objectives, and met with several visitors to the branch, directing that their transactions be processed and completed immediately. He launched a project for maintenance and operation contracts for the mosques and prayer halls in the region at a cost of more than 42 million riyals. These contracts represent all mosques in the region at a rate of 100%, while the contracts include prayer halls at a rate of 66% in the region. He also launched the initiative implemented by the Ministry’s branch in the region to plant 50,000 trees in the mosques and prayer halls of the region over three years, to raise the percentage of vegetation cover, eliminate desertification, increase green spaces around mosques and prayer halls, combat pollution, achieve sustainable development, improve the urban landscape, and increase green spaces around houses of worship to keep pace with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, one of whose objectives and most prominent projects is the Saudi Green Project. He also launched initiatives for volunteer opportunities with 5,000 opportunities in several fields, including service, religious, artistic, media, social, environmental, administrative, cultural, and organizational, through the National Platform for Volunteer Work, which will be implemented within two years.

Eight US soldiers killed; Rubio comments on the attack against Iran
US Central Command announces the deaths of eight American service members in combat operations. Secretary of State Marco Rubio describes the attack on Iran as preemptive and calls for regime change in Tehran.
The US Central Command announced in an urgent official statement that six US soldiers were killed in intense combat operations during the past 48 hours, bringing the total number of casualties among US forces in light of the ongoing escalation.
The command explained in its statement that as of 4:00 PM Eastern Time on March 2, six U.S. service members had been confirmed killed in action. The statement added an important detail regarding search and rescue efforts, confirming that U.S. forces had recently recovered the remains of two service members previously listed as missing from a military facility that was directly targeted during the first wave of Iranian attacks in the region, bringing the total number of confirmed fatalities in this context to eight.
Central Command noted that major combat operations are still ongoing on several fronts, and affirmed its commitment to the strict Department of Defense protocol that requires withholding the identities of fallen soldiers for 24 hours, in order to ensure that their families are formally and properly notified before the names are published in the media.
Marco Rubio's statements and political stance
On the other hand, in a political comment reflecting the severity of the situation, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio told reporters that Washington hopes the Iranian people will be able to overthrow the government in Tehran. Rubio emphasized that the US military actions and attacks on targets linked to Iran are part of a "preemptive operation" aimed at protecting US interests and preventing Tehran from escalating the conflict, stressing that the mission's objective goes beyond traditional deterrence to attempting to alter the security equation in the region.
Context of escalation and its regional impact
This announcement comes at a time of heightened geopolitical tension in the Middle East. The high number of American casualties in such a short period (48 hours) represents a dangerous escalation that could signal a new phase of direct confrontation. Historically, US forces in the region have been subjected to sporadic attacks, but this number of casualties, coupled with the recovery of remains of missing personnel, indicates an increased intensity of fire and a more precise targeting pattern.
International observers believe that Secretary Rubio's statements about "overthrowing the government" and his characterization of the attacks as "preemptive" reflect a shift in the US administration's political doctrine toward a more assertive approach. This escalation not only has military repercussions but also casts a shadow over the stability of global energy markets and the security of shipping lanes, presenting the international community with significant challenges in containing the situation before it spirals into a full-blown regional war.

Six US soldiers killed and Tehran bombed on the fourth day of the war
Developments in the war with Iran: 6 American soldiers killed, the Israeli army requests the evacuation of areas in Tehran, and Marco Rubio sets targets for destroying Iranian missile and naval capabilities.
The ongoing conflict between the United States and Israel on one side, and Iran on the other, entered its fourth day amidst an unprecedented military escalation. Intense military operations continued on Tuesday, including heavy airstrikes targeting the Iranian capital, Tehran. These attacks focused particularly on strategic military sites, while Tehran continued its retaliatory strikes, launching missile barrages targeting Tel Aviv and several other vital locations.
American casualties and developments on the ground
In a significant development indicating an escalation of the ground and air confrontation, the US Central Command officially announced the deaths of six US service members during combat operations in the ongoing conflict with Iran. While the command did not disclose precise details about the location or circumstances of the soldiers' deaths, this announcement represents a turning point that could lead to fundamental changes in the rules of engagement in the coming days.
Concurrently with these developments, the Israeli military issued urgent warnings to residents of Tehran, urging them to evacuate immediately and specifying certain areas deemed dangerous to civilians. The warning specifically targeted residents living near the headquarters of the Iranian state broadcaster, suggesting an intention to target government media and communications centers as part of a new wave of airstrikes aimed at crippling the regime's vital capabilities.
Strategic goals and political stance
On the political and diplomatic front, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio clearly outlined the objectives of this war. In press statements, Rubio expressed his personal support for the idea of regime change in Tehran, saying, "We hope that the Iranian people will be able to overthrow this government and establish a new future for that country, and we would be happy if that could be achieved." However, Rubio was careful to distinguish between his political aspirations and the stated military objectives, emphasizing that "the goal of this military mission is to destroy their ballistic missile and naval capabilities" to neutralize the Iranian threat to the region.
The context of the conflict and its regional repercussions
This direct military escalation brings to an end a long era of "shadow wars" and proxy conflicts that have characterized relations between the warring parties for decades. The shift to direct targeting of capitals (Tehran and Tel Aviv) places the entire Middle East region before open and complex scenarios. Observers believe that the American-Israeli focus on destroying missile and naval capabilities aims to secure international waterways and protect allies in the region from long-range aerial threats, which could redraw the region's security map for years to come.

The US military destroys 11 ships and 1,250 Iranian targets
The US Central Command announced that it had struck 1,250 Iranian targets and destroyed 11 ships in the Gulf of Oman, affirming its commitment to protecting freedom of navigation and ending maritime threats.
In a significant and notable military escalation, the US military announced today (Monday) that it has intensified its military operations against Iranian regime targets, as the war enters its third consecutive day. Official data revealed that more than 1,250 strategic targets inside and outside Iran have been struck since the start of operations, in a move aimed at neutralizing military capabilities that threaten regional security.
Clearing the Gulf of Oman of Iranian ships
In detailing the naval operation, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed in an official statement that it had achieved a significant success by completely destroying Iranian naval capabilities in the Gulf of Oman. The statement clarified that the Iranian regime no longer possesses any vessels in these vital waters, after 11 ships that were present there were targeted and destroyed just two days prior. This decisive action comes within the framework of Washington's strategy to secure international waterways and ensure the safety of commercial shipping.
End of the era of maritime threats
In its statement, Central Command emphasized that “the Iranian regime has been attacking international shipping in the Gulf of Oman for decades, and those days are over.” These remarks clearly signal a shift in the rules of engagement, moving from a policy of containment to one of direct deterrence and a decisive end to threats, reflecting growing American impatience with destabilizing activities in the waterways.
Strategic importance and freedom of navigation
In discussing the historical and economic context, the US military noted that freedom of navigation has been a cornerstone of American and global economic prosperity for over 80 years. The Gulf of Oman is a vital waterway connecting the Arabian Sea to the Strait of Hormuz, through which a significant portion of the world's oil supply passes. The United States has long considered the protection of these waterways an integral part of its national security and global economic security, as any disruption in this region has direct repercussions for global energy markets.
Reaffirming the American commitment
The US military concluded its statement by affirming that American forces will continue to defend freedom of navigation resolutely and will not allow any future threats to impede international trade. This military move carries multiple messages, not only to Tehran but to the entire international community, indicating that Washington is prepared to use its overwhelming military force to protect global economic interests and impose stability in the Middle East.
