Al-Sudais: Prevention and immunization are the way to avoid harm and disease
The Imam and preacher of the Grand Mosque, Sheikh Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais, advised Muslims to fear God, for whoever adheres to piety has answered the call
The Imam and preacher of the Grand Mosque, Sheikh Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais, advised Muslims to fear God, for whoever adheres to piety has answered the call of God.
In his Friday sermon delivered today at the Grand Mosque, he said: “In a world teeming with crises and challenges, illusions and complaints, and in societies where acts of magic and satanic sorcery are widespread, and eye diseases and psychological epidemics, and whatever afflicts the Muslim from them in terms of distress and illness, or loss of lives and wealth, except from the decrees of the Almighty, may He be glorified, by testing individuals and societies, and for one group it is a ladder to the degrees of perfection, and for another: an expiation for evil deeds, and the Muslim’s entire affair is interpreted as good, if he is afflicted with calamity and harm.”.
He added: “Reminding people of the importance of protection and fortification is one of the most important things they need, especially in this time when many diseases have spread among souls and have taken root in them, and illnesses have afflicted them and penetrated them, such as epilepsy, possession, magic, the evil eye, and envy that leads to death. The Qur’anic verses have shone with the greatest proof, and the hadith texts with the most wonderful explanation, and the evidence from reality and sight is that they are the balm and cure for every debilitating disease. How many a sick person was on the verge of destruction and death, and the most luxurious hospitals did not help his illness, but he sought treatment with legitimate incantations, so God granted him healing and recovery.”.
Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais emphasized that prevention and protection are the means to avoid harm, illness, and disease. He advised Muslims to fortify themselves, their children, and their homes with prescribed supplications, morning and evening remembrances, supplications for entering and exiting places, eating and drinking, sleeping and waking, and other supplications authentically narrated from the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). These are the protective fortress, by God's permission, along with firm reliance on the All-Seeing, All-Hearing Lord, and entrusting matters to His wise and perfect plan. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not make your houses like graveyards, for Satan flees from the house in which Surah Al-Baqarah is recited," especially the Throne Verse (Ayat al-Kursi), the concluding verses of the Surah, Surah Al-Ikhlas, and the last two chapters of the Quran (Al-Mu'awwidhatayn), as was the custom. The guidance of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.
He said: “Many Muslims neglect to protect themselves, their children, and their homes, and due to the weakness of faith and belief among those afflicted by Satan with possession, whispers, or other things, or afflicted by the evil eye or envy, some of them rush to the trappings of sorcery, talismans, superstitions, magic, charlatanry, and violations. They are then taken in by those who claim to be legitimate healers, or those who claim to undo spells and nullify magic and the like. This healer speaks sophistry with obscure writing and muttering, another speaks heresy with ambiguous words and murmurs, and another asserts that the disease is the evil eye.” The one who casts the evil eye is a relative, and another who is constantly beating people severely. Most of these pretenders disguise themselves by showing the appearance of wise and pious people, but they are nothing but cunning deceivers, swindlers who extort money from people and extract it without measure. They may even introduce recipes that promote illusions to deceive the simple-minded, especially with their popularity on satellite channels, information networks, social media sites, and even some digital applications.
The Imam and preacher of the Grand Mosque pointed out that fortification and protection do not require hardship, obstinacy, or falling into the clutches of pretenders. Rather, it is a safeguard from all of these, which a person does for himself, his family, and his children. It requires preserving individuals and societies, and zeal for the sacred faith and the beautiful Sharia.
He advised Muslims to fear God and obey His commands, and to avoid His prohibitions and warnings, for He, may His glory be exalted, is aware of the inner and outer aspects of the matter, and the secrets and hidden thoughts of the heart.
Sheikh Al-Sudais explained that it is not hidden from everyone what the nation is going through in terms of trials, tribulations, calamities, tribulations, distress, and afflictions. Therefore, one of the most important types of protection in these difficult times is to protect the minds of young people intellectually and doctrinally. The responsibility for this falls on the shoulders of scholars, preachers, parents, men of education, thought, media, and writers. They must all contribute to protecting young people intellectually and doctrinally. Urging adherence to the established scholars of the nation, warning against deviant, inciting, and misleading fatwas, and raising their awareness of the challenges they face in a time when the temptations of desires and doubts have prevailed, which have dragged tribulations into families, homes, and societies, and taking them as shields from the desires in the labyrinths of discordant ideas, and spreading awareness in explaining the plans of the enemies and cutting off their path in achieving their suspicious goals, asking God Almighty to protect our youth and our societies from all evil and harm, and to preserve for us our security, safety, faith, and leadership. He is near and responsive.
On the other hand, the Imam and preacher of the Prophet’s Mosque, Sheikh Abdulbari Al-Thubaiti, advised Muslims to fear God, for it is the path to salvation and the provision of the believers, and through it the people of obedience are raised to the ranks of the pious.
In his Friday sermon, Sheikh Al-Thubaiti said: “The words of God Almighty, ‘God is He Who created you from weakness, then made you strong after weakness, then made you weak and old after strength. He creates what He wills, and He is the All-Knowing, the All-Powerful,’ are a verse that summarizes the course of life in eloquent words and profound meanings, painting a picture of the stages of human creation. It begins with the weakness of childhood, rises to strength, then returns to weakness adorned with old age. This verse awakens minds to realize human helplessness and touches hearts to reveal our constant need for our Lord.”.
He added that this verse is an invitation to reflect on the stages of creation, the fluctuations between strength and weakness, and God's absolute power that governs this course with wisdom and perfection. Everything is in His hands; from Him comes the beginning, and to Him returns the end. This emphasizes that Muslims must venerate God's sacred rites at all times, and this veneration increases during these sacred months by abstaining from forbidden acts, avoiding prohibited ones, hastening to do good deeds, and striving to perform righteous acts, provided they avoid innovations and refrain from inventing new practices.
The Imam and preacher of the Prophet's Mosque explained that childhood is the first page in the book of life, beginning with pure innocence and vulnerability surrounded by God's kindness and mercy. A small child, powerless and helpless, is surrounded by loving and tender hearts, and caressed by those who nurture and protect him. He pointed out that this verse is a majestic scene demonstrating the greatness of divine providence, as God protects this vulnerable child and provides him with help in ways he cannot comprehend.
And between the stages of human development, from his emergence from the darkness of his mother's womb, with no knowledge or ability, in complete helplessness and utter ignorance. Then God opened for him the doors of knowledge, and bestowed upon him hearing, sight, and hearts so that he might draw from the wellspring of learning and understanding, indicating that all that man has acquired of knowledge or strength is a gift from God and a bestowal from His generosity. God Almighty said, “And God brought you forth from the wombs of your mothers while you knew nothing, and He gave you hearing, sight, and hearts that you might give thanks.”.
He pointed out that this verse instills in hearts the etiquette of servitude, and plants in souls the humility of the humble, so that man does not become arrogant with his knowledge, nor is he deceived by his strength.
He explained that a person must realize that every atom of their strength and every movement of their body is a blessing that demands constant gratitude and complete submission. For the servant, no matter how high their status, remains poor before their Lord, in need of His grace every moment of their life, which is a gift from God, deserving of praise at all times. How great is God's wealth, and how profound is the servant's need before Him.
He stated that this stage is when the greatest stories of struggle are written, and the strongest structures of civilization are built. No nation can stand or rise except through the strength and high aspirations of its young people.
The Imam and preacher of the Prophet’s Mosque affirmed that the strength of youth flourishes when it is shaded by religion, rises when it is nourished by the source of values and morals, and manifests itself in the sky of glory when it is harnessed to serve the country and the people. Whoever wastes his youth has wasted his entire life, for it is a fleeting moment in the time of life. Whoever invests it in goodness and benefit leaves a good legacy and reaps ripe fruits in this world and the hereafter.
He pointed out that true strength stems from a spirit of faith, sharpened by obedience, strengthened by seeking forgiveness, and bearing fruit through righteous deeds. It is the strength that connects with its Lord, who then increases its resolve and steadfastness. God Almighty said, through the words of Hud, peace be upon him: “And O my people, ask forgiveness of your Lord and then repent to Him. He will send [rain from] the sky upon you in showers and increase you in strength [added] to your [present] strength. And do not turn away as criminals.”.
In the second sermon, he explained that the limits of childhood, strength, weakness, and old age are the average lifespan of a person, as the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “The ages of my nation are between sixty and seventy, and few of them exceed that.” It is a short journey in the balance of time, but it reminds us of the inevitable death and that the end is approaching with every passing moment.
At the end of the sermon, the Imam and preacher of the Prophet's Mosque urged the congregation to seize every moment of life. Life is limited, opportunities do not return, and life is not measured by the number of years, but by the lasting impact and good deeds one leaves behind.

Khamenei's succession crisis: Iran enters the unknown and its proxies flounder
Iran faces its most serious political crisis with the absence of a successor to the Supreme Leader. This report analyzes the implications of this leadership vacuum on the stability of the regime and the actions of its regional proxies amidst the escalating tensions.
Iran is entering the most dangerous political and security juncture in its history, at a critical moment where an internal leadership crisis intertwines with multiple regional conflicts. The situation is rapidly escalating, and the world is watching closely to see what unfolds in Tehran. The country appears to be operating with a fragmented structure lacking a clear center of power, foreshadowing serious geopolitical repercussions.
Succession crisis and constitutional ambiguity
Following reports of the assassination of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, the regime has yet to announce a formal successor, despite the passage of sufficient time that should have allowed for a resolution through established constitutional mechanisms. Historically, the Iranian regime relies on the Assembly of Experts to select the Supreme Leader, the body constitutionally empowered to appoint or dismiss him. However, the current complexities point to a deep power struggle within the corridors of power, a stark contrast to the smooth transition that occurred in 1989 after Khomeini's death and Khamenei's ascension to the throne.
Lack of centralization and its impact on the system
While it is true that a temporary council was formed to manage certain tasks, and several names were floated behind closed doors, the public absence of a clear leader reflects a confusion that goes beyond mere protocol to the very core of the power structure. Iran is not a state of traditional institutions; rather, it is a system fundamentally based on the central authority of the "Supreme Leader," who controls the levers of power within the Revolutionary Guard, the army, and the judiciary. The absence of this figurehead creates a vacuum that temporary councils cannot fill, thus opening the door for the Revolutionary Guard to consolidate its political influence to an unprecedented degree.
The regional arms are floundering and the risks of escalation
Regionally, the picture is even more complex. The Iranian-backed armed factions in Lebanon, Yemen, Iraq, and Syria (the so-called "axis of resistance") rely on strategic guidance and direct funding from Tehran. In the absence of a central command structure, these proxies have begun to operate without a central authority, increasing the likelihood of military miscalculations or being drawn into ill-conceived confrontations with Israel or the United States. The lack of a coordinating force to guide these fronts could transform the region into a scene of complete chaos, where each faction acts according to its own narrow, local interests, detached from a unified Iranian strategy.

Trump to Iran: It's too late to negotiate after your military capabilities have been destroyed
Donald Trump refuses to negotiate with Iran, vowing to destroy its air and naval defenses, amid a large-scale US-Israeli military escalation and fears of open war.
In an unprecedented escalation of the military and political situation, US President Donald Trump announced his categorical rejection of any attempts at negotiation from the Iranian side at the present time, stressing that these calls came too late after Tehran lost the pillars of its strategic military power.
In a fiery statement posted on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump asserted that the Iranian regime is now attempting to salvage its lifeline through diplomacy, but that it is too late. He wrote bluntly: "The Iranians have lost their air defenses, their air force, their navy, and their leaders... and then they wanted to negotiate. I said: It's too late." These remarks come as the United States, in close coordination with Israel, continues its intensive military operations, which appear to have achieved broad strategic objectives.
Context of the conflict and historical background
This dramatic development cannot be separated from a long history of tension between Washington and Tehran. Relations between the two countries have long been governed by the “maximum pressure” policy previously pursued by Trump, which focused on crippling the Iranian economy and isolating it diplomatically. Analysts suggest that the current strikes are the culmination of a long history of disputes over regional influence, the ballistic missile program, and the thorny issue of the nuclear program.
President Trump, who authorized the airstrikes in direct coordination with Israel on Saturday, had initially estimated the operations would last four to five weeks. However, developments on the ground and the administration's efforts to justify a full-scale war have shifted the focus toward an open-ended confrontation aimed at completely neutralizing the Iranian threat.
Military and nuclear dimensions
In justifying the massive attack, Trump focused on Iran's relentless pursuit of nuclear weapons, an accusation Tehran has consistently denied, maintaining that its program is peaceful. Nevertheless, Washington and Tel Aviv consider Iran's acquisition of a nuclear bomb a red line that cannot be crossed, which explains the ferocity of the attacks targeting military infrastructure.
Trump's talk of destroying Iran's navy and air defenses carries serious strategic implications. Iran relies heavily on its naval power in the Strait of Hormuz to threaten to close global oil shipping lanes, and on its air defenses to protect its nuclear facilities. According to Trump's statements, neutralizing these capabilities would deprive Iran of its most important bargaining chips, making its calls for negotiations now appear as an attempt at surrender rather than an attempt at equal dialogue.
Expected regional repercussions
This escalation is expected to cast a long shadow over the entire Middle East. The absence of Iranian defensive capabilities could fundamentally alter the balance of power in the region and reshape security and political alliances. Furthermore, a protracted war could lead to instability in global energy markets, presenting the international community with complex economic and security challenges in the coming period.

British warning to Iran: We will not remain silent about the targeting of our allies in the region
Britain sent a firm message to Iran through spokeswoman Jocelyn Waller, stressing that it would not remain silent in the face of attacks on allies and praising efforts to protect civilians amid escalating regional tensions.
In a significant development reflecting the depth of geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, the United Kingdom sent a strongly worded message to Tehran, reaffirming its unwavering commitment to the security and stability of its allies in the region. This firm stance was delivered by the British government spokesperson for the Middle East and North Africa, Jocelyn Wallard, who emphasized that London would not remain silent in the face of any actions that jeopardize the security of its partners.
Details of the British warning
In a video posted to her official X account (formerly Twitter), Waller explained that Iran had launched a series of attacks over the past three days in various parts of the region, targeting countries that had not initiated any hostile action against it. The British official indicated that this behavior represents an unjustified escalation that threatens regional peace, emphasizing that "we will not stand idly by" in the face of these transgressions.
Regional context and the importance of alliances
This statement comes at a time of regional instability, as major international powers, particularly the United Kingdom, seek to reaffirm their commitment to security and defense agreements with Gulf and Middle Eastern states. Historically, Britain has deep strategic ties with countries in the region, extending beyond economics to include close military and security cooperation. This British stance is interpreted as part of a Western deterrence strategy aimed at preventing the escalation of conflict and ensuring freedom of navigation and global energy security.
Protection of civilians and international responsibility
In her remarks, Waller highlighted the humanitarian and social dimensions of the targeted countries, describing them as homelands that welcome citizens of diverse nationalities and backgrounds, including a large British community living and working there. She expressed the UK government's deep gratitude to the local authorities and military forces in those countries, commending their effective and vigilant efforts to protect civilians from air and missile threats.
Implications of timing and the future
The timing of this message carries significant political implications, underscoring that the international community is closely monitoring Iranian actions. Observers believe that London's use of firm diplomatic language suggests a potential increase in security and intelligence coordination between Britain and its allies in the coming period to neutralize any future threats and maintain stability in this vital region for the entire world.
