Housing support: 12.4 billion riyals for beneficiaries of the Real Estate Development Fund 2025

Total annual support amounts to 12.4 billion Saudi Riyals

The Real Estate Development Fund announced the deposit of SAR 1.034 billion into the accounts of beneficiaries of the “Sakani” program for December 2025. With this latest deposit, the total financial support provided to beneficiaries from the beginning to the end of the year reaches approximately SAR 12.4 billion. The Fund explained that this support is allocated to cover the profits of mortgage contracts within the various housing support programs, in a strategic step aimed at enabling Saudi families to own their first home.

Direct support to achieve the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030

This generous support is an integral part of national efforts to achieve the objectives of the Housing Program, one of the key programs of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. The program aims to increase homeownership among citizens to 70% by 2030 by providing innovative and sustainable housing and financing solutions. The continued flow of support reflects the government’s commitment to promoting family stability and improving the quality of life for citizens, recognizing housing as a fundamental pillar in building a vibrant and prosperous society.

Historical background and renewed role of the Real Estate Development Fund

Established in 1974, the Real Estate Development Fund (REDF) has played a pivotal role in the Kingdom's urban development for decades by providing direct loans. With the launch of Vision 2030, the Fund underwent a strategic transformation, shifting from direct financing to empowering the private sector to provide real estate financing, while the Fund provides monthly support to cover the financing costs for beneficiaries. This shift has significantly accelerated access to financing, reduced waiting lists, and strengthened partnerships with banks and financial institutions.

The economic and social importance of the “Sakani” program

The importance of this support extends beyond the individual beneficiaries to encompass the entire national economy. These billions contribute to revitalizing the real estate and construction sector, stimulating demand for building materials and contracting services, and creating thousands of direct and indirect jobs. On a social level, homeownership fosters a sense of security and belonging for families and represents a long-term investment for future generations. The Real Estate Development Fund, in cooperation with the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, continues to develop its financing solutions to meet the evolving needs of citizens and expand the range of housing options available to them.
