Saudi Electricity Company launches its new identity: Saudi Energy

In a move reflecting a fundamental shift in the Kingdom's energy sector, the Saudi Electricity Company officially announced its new identity under the name "Saudi Energy." This change is not merely a name and logo update, but rather the beginning of a new phase of institutional transformation aimed at keeping pace with the restructuring of the electricity sector in Saudi Arabia, directly aligned with the ambitious goals of Vision 2030.

Context of transformation and structural reforms

This announcement culminates a series of fundamental financial and regulatory reforms undertaken in the sector since 2020, under the direct supervision of the Ministerial Committee for Restructuring the Electricity Sector, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, Minister of Energy. These reforms aim to create a more sustainable and efficient environment, ensuring the security of supply and the reliability of the electricity grid, which is the lifeblood of the country's industrial and urban development.

The importance of the new identity and its implications

The company's CEO, Engineer Khalid Al-Ghamdi, affirmed that the new identity, "Saudi Energy," reflects an evolution in the company's role and responsibilities, while preserving its core business. This new name embodies a broader understanding of energy that extends beyond traditional electricity transmission and distribution to encompass the adoption of modern and sustainable energy solutions.

Supporting an optimal energy mix and environmental sustainability

Strategically, this transformation plays a pivotal role in supporting the Kingdom's plans to achieve an optimal energy mix for electricity generation, which aims to replace liquid fuels with gas and renewable energy sources. Saudi Energy Company acts as a key enabler in this system by developing energy storage projects and expanding and modernizing transmission and distribution networks with advanced automation systems, directly contributing to achieving the Kingdom's environmental goals and reducing carbon emissions.

Customer focus and digital transformation

The company emphasized that its new identity places the customer at the heart of its priorities, embodied in its new slogan, “Around you and for you.” Through this corporate promise, the company aims to enhance the customer experience by developing digital channels and improving the quality of services offered to individuals, businesses, and industries, thereby positively impacting quality of life and supporting the competitiveness of the national economy.

In conclusion, Saudi Energy affirms its commitment to adopting global best practices in asset and infrastructure management, to enhance the Kingdom’s position as a global energy hub, and to ensure the stability of the electrical system and its readiness for future challenges and requirements.

Health Holding Company announced a major recruitment campaign offering 3,150 diverse job opportunities across its 20 health clusters throughout Saudi Arabia. This strategic move aims to address the growing need for qualified personnel, with positions available for consultants, specialists, resident physicians in training, and nursing staff.

Dates and application process for Health Holding jobs

The company clarified that health clusters will officially begin accepting job applications starting March 3rd. It indicated that the direct recruitment process for healthcare practitioners will be conducted through each health cluster's individual online recruitment portal. The company emphasized a key requirement in the application process: candidates may only apply to one health cluster to ensure a fair and organized selection process.

Supporting the Health Sector Transformation Program and Vision 2030

This announcement is not merely a job posting; it represents a crucial component of the "Health Sector Transformation Program," a key initiative under the Kingdom's Vision 2030. This step aims to empower national talent and provide sustainable employment opportunities, thereby enhancing the ability of healthcare clusters to attract qualified professionals with greater flexibility. This initiative contributes to increased operational efficiency, ensures the continued quality of healthcare services provided to citizens and residents, and facilitates access to these services across the Kingdom.

Focus on family medicine and systematic training

As part of its commitment to developing medical talent, Health Holding Company has allocated a portion of its positions for the title "Resident Physician in Training" within the Saudi Board of Family Medicine program. This innovative training pathway focuses on structured, hands-on training within healthcare clusters. During the program, physicians work in a supervisory environment accredited by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, enabling them to gain the necessary clinical experience in primary healthcare and preparing them to pass the Saudi Board examination, thus opening up broad professional opportunities to compete in the medical job market.

The modern healthcare model

These appointments support the implementation of the modern "Saudi Healthcare Model," adopted by Health Holding. This model focuses on shifting from treatment to prevention, placing the individual at the center of attention. The company operates as a national entity responsible for providing comprehensive and integrated care through its twenty clusters, aiming to prioritize prevention over treatment and deliver advanced service levels that facilitate the patient's healthcare journey and improve public health indicators in the Kingdom.

King Abdulaziz Camel Festival Penalties: Millions in fines and prize money withdrawn

The Camel Club has decided to withdraw the first and fourth place prizes in the Crown Prince's Shalfah race and fine violators 3 million riyals for blood sample discrepancies. See the new ranking of the winners.

In a move that underscores the organizers' commitment to the integrity of the competitions and the application of the highest standards of fairness, the Camel Club announced this evening, Thursday, the issuance of strict penalties against two participants in the tenth edition of the King Abdulaziz Camel Festival. The penalties included hefty fines totaling 3 million riyals, in addition to the withdrawal of prizes and the stripping of the violators of their winning positions, after they were found to have violated the festival's general terms and conditions.

Details of violations and sample discrepancies

The Camel Club explained in its official statement that specialized committees conducted thorough laboratory tests on blood samples taken from camels participating in the "Crown Prince's Sword" race for the white camel breed. The laboratory results revealed a surprising discrepancy: a blood sample taken from one of the camels belonging to competitor Fahd bin Fahad bin Jakhdab Al-Saadi did not match the previously registered documentation sample with the club, and no match was found in the approved documentation database.

In a related matter, the results revealed a similar violation by participant Khalid bin Shuraid bin Khalid Al-Mutairi, where blood samples from two camels participating under his name did not match. The club considered these actions a fundamental breach of the participation requirements and a violation of the integrity of identification and documentation procedures, thus compromising the fairness of the competition and the results among the participants.

Penalties and new ranking of winners

Based on the above, the club issued its final decisions, which stated:

  • The prize was withdrawn from the first-place winner, Fahd bin Fahad bin Jakhdab Al-Saadi, and he was permanently excluded from the ranking, with a fine of one million riyals.
  • The prize was withdrawn from the fourth-place winner, Khalid bin Shuraid bin Khalid Al-Mutairi, and he was excluded from the ranking, with a fine of two million riyals (one million for each text that violated the rules).

Based on these exclusions, the rankings for the "Crown Prince's Shalfah" race for the Al-Wadh color were rearranged, so the final ranking is as follows:

  • First place: Mohammed bin Nasser Al-Otaibi.
  • Second place: Khalaf bin Ghadhian Al-Habardi.
  • Third place: Ibrahim bin Ali Al-Suhaibani.

The importance of the festival and strict censorship

This decision comes in light of the immense importance of the King Abdulaziz Camel Festival, the world's largest event dedicated to camel heritage, which enjoys widespread local, regional, and international attention. The festival aims not only to revive this heritage but also to bolster the economic aspects of the camel sector, making adherence to regulations crucial for ensuring the sector's sustainability and growth.

The judging and oversight committees at the Camel Club operate using advanced technologies and precise medical and laboratory procedures to detect any tampering, whether it involves altering camel specifications or manipulating identity and documentation (DNA). These firm penalties underscore the club's message that any violation of regulations will be met with the strictest legal penalties without leniency, in order to preserve the festival's reputation, protect the rights of compliant participants, and ensure that prizes are awarded to those who truly deserve them, in accordance with standards of transparency and integrity.
