The National Water Company announced the readiness of the King Abdullah Zamzam Water Project for the month of Ramadan by providing 2.2 million bottles, and continuous pumping to the Two Holy Mosques with the highest quality standards.
The National Water Company, the official operator of the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Zamzam Water Project, announced the completion of all operational and logistical preparations for the holy month of Ramadan. The company confirmed the availability of a substantial strategic reserve exceeding 2.2 million bottles of blessed Zamzam water to ensure the increased demand and provide drinking water for pilgrims and visitors during the holy month.
High production capacity and multiple distribution outlets
As part of its seasonal plan, the company explained that the project's daily production capacity has been increased to 200,000 five-liter bottles. This step comes in response to the anticipated surge in demand in Mecca and Medina. To facilitate access to water for beneficiaries, distribution continues through the project's headquarters, in addition to activating more than 750 authorized sales outlets across the Kingdom. Smaller 330ml bottles are also available through the "Nusk" app, making it easier for pilgrims and Umrah performers to obtain water conveniently.
Advanced technologies to ensure quality and safety
The company indicated that production processes within the King Abdullah Zamzam Water Project adhere to the latest international standards. The water undergoes a fully automated process, from extraction from the well to bottling and packaging, without any human intervention. To ensure the highest levels of safety, the project's advanced laboratories conduct over 400 tests daily . These rigorous procedures aim to provide blessed, pure, and healthy water that meets international drinking water standards, prioritizing the well-being of visitors to the Two Holy Mosques.
Serving the Two Holy Mosques: A top priority
The company emphasized its unwavering commitment to serving the Two Holy Mosques, confirming the continuous pumping of Zamzam water to the Grand Mosque in Mecca around the clock to ensure its availability in drinking fountains and designated reservoirs. Regarding the Prophet's Mosque in Medina, ongoing coordination with relevant authorities ensures the supply of massive quantities exceeding 50 million liters daily . These quantities are transported safely and hygienically, guaranteeing the water retains its natural properties until it reaches visitors in Medina.
King Abdullah Zamzam Water Project: A pioneering initiative in serving those visiting the Holy Mosque
The King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Zamzam Water Project represents a qualitative and historic leap forward in the mechanisms for serving pilgrims to the Holy Mosque in Mecca. Before its establishment, obtaining and bottling Zamzam water was done using traditional methods that sometimes lacked precise health standards or were subject to unregulated commercial exploitation. This project came to resolve these challenges by automating the processes and standardizing the packaging, thus ensuring that the blessed water reaches Muslims in all parts of the world in perfect purity.
The spiritual significance of Zamzam water during Ramadan
Providing Zamzam water during Ramadan takes on special significance, as the number of pilgrims performing Umrah increases dramatically. Those fasting in the Two Holy Mosques are keen to break their fast with sips of this blessed water, given its profound religious importance to Muslims, in accordance with the Prophetic tradition: “Zamzam water is for whatever purpose it is drunk for.” These tremendous efforts by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia reflect its exceptional care for the pilgrims and its commitment to overcoming all obstacles so they can perform their rituals in comfort and peace.

Check Your Health Campaign in Al-Ula: 10 Free Preventive Checkups for Residents and Visitors
The Al-Ula Health Zone launched the "Check Your Health" campaign to provide 10 comprehensive preventive check-ups for residents and visitors, promoting early prevention and keeping pace with the Kingdom's Vision 2030 in healthcare.
In a move aimed at establishing a culture of prevention before treatment, the Al-Ula Health Zone launched a unique campaign under the slogan "Check Your Health," which comes as part of ongoing efforts to promote health awareness and encourage all members of the community to adopt a healthy lifestyle through preventive checkups and early detection. The launch took place in the presence of the Deputy Governor of Al-Ula Governorate, Mr. Talal Al-Faqeer, the Director of Prince Abdulmohsen Hospital in Al-Ula Governorate, Dr. Bayan Al-Ahmadi, along with a number of representatives from government agencies and local residents.
A complete package of medical tests
The initiative, targeting a wide segment including residents, visitors, and tourists in the governorate, offers a golden opportunity to check on health through 10 essential preventative tests. These tests are important because of their ability to diagnose chronic diseases in their early stages, facilitating proactive and effective management. The approved list of tests includes:
- Good cholesterol (HDL) test.
- Measuring blood pressure.
- Measuring heart rate.
- Blood oxygen saturation level.
- Calculating Body Mass Index (BMI).
- Fasting blood sugar test.
- Glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) test.
- Total fat analysis.
- Testing for harmful cholesterol (LDL).
- Triglyceride test.
Promoting public health and keeping pace with Vision 2030
This campaign aligns with the objectives of the Health Sector Transformation Program, one of the programs under the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which focuses heavily on public health and disease prevention rather than simply treating existing conditions. Chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease are global health challenges, so making these screenings readily available contributes to improving the overall health indicators of Saudi society.
The campaign also gains special importance as it coincides with the holy month of Ramadan, when dietary habits and sleep patterns change, making it an ideal opportunity for beneficiaries to visit primary health care centers and review their vital signs, to ensure a healthy and safe fast.
The modern care model and the role of the family physician
The "Check Your Health" initiative falls under the modern Saudi healthcare model centered on the "family physician" in primary care centers. This model aims to facilitate access to high-quality and efficient healthcare services for beneficiaries and promote continuity of care and follow-up. By connecting individuals with a family physician and well-equipped primary care centers, the prevalence of chronic diseases and their complications is reduced, positively impacting quality of life.
Al-Ula, as a global and historical tourist destination, is an ideal model for implementing such initiatives that serve both visitors and residents, confirming that tourism development goes hand in hand with health and social development.

Saudi Arabia weather today: Temperature drop and rain in several regions
Check today's weather forecast for Saudi Arabia. The Meteorology Department predicts a drop in temperatures in Tabuk, Al-Jawf, and the Northern Borders region, with chances of rain and fog in the highlands.
The National Center for Meteorology issued its daily weather report for Saudi Arabia today (Friday), indicating significant weather changes affecting several regions. The report included forecasts of a drop in temperatures accompanied by active winds that may reduce horizontal visibility, urging caution from citizens, residents, and highway users.
Weather details and affected areas
The center explained in its statement that the drop in temperatures will be concentrated mainly in the northern parts of the Kingdom, specifically in the Tabuk, Al-Jawf, and Northern Borders . These changes are part of the usual weather fluctuations in these areas, which are often the first point of entry for cold air masses coming from the north.
In a related context, the meteorological department highlighted the impact of active winds stirring up dust and sand, which may reduce horizontal visibility in parts of Riyadh, Qassim, and the Eastern Province . These weather phenomena are among the climatic features that require special attention from those with respiratory conditions and drivers in open areas.
Chance of rain and fog in the highlands
The report not only mentioned wind and low temperatures, but also indicated that there is still a chance of light rain in parts of the aforementioned regions, as well as parts of the highlands of Makkah, Al-Baha, Asir, and Jazan . The report also noted the possibility of fog forming in parts of the highlands of these regions, making it even more important to adhere to traffic safety guidelines while driving on slopes and mountain passes.
The geographical and climatic context of the Kingdom
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is characterized by a wide geographical and climatic diversity, with weather patterns varying between coastal, desert, and mountainous regions. The southwestern highlands (Asir, Al-Baha, and Jazan) play a prominent role in receiving rainfall and fog due to their geographical nature and elevation above sea level, while the northern and central regions are directly affected by surface winds and passing low-pressure systems.
The importance of following weather reports
The National Center for Meteorology is the official body authorized to issue weather forecasts and warnings in the Kingdom. These reports are of paramount importance in preserving lives and property, as they guide relevant authorities and the public in taking necessary precautions. Experts always advise following continuous weather updates through official channels, especially during periods of transitional weather fluctuations, to ensure public safety and avoid risks resulting from heavy dust storms, flash floods, or reduced visibility due to fog.

Launch of the Mawardi platform to regulate food supply in Makkah | Vision 2030
The Minister of Municipalities launched the “Mawredi” platform in Makkah to enhance food security and regulate supply chains for pilgrims, in a strategic partnership between “Al-Balad Al-Amin” and “Sari”.
In a strategic move aimed at enhancing food security and improving the efficiency of services provided to pilgrims, the Minister of Municipalities and Housing, Mr. Majid Al-Hogail, launched the "Mawrdi" platform in the Holy City of Mecca. This initiative is the result of a strategic partnership between Al-Balad Al-Ameen Company (the investment arm of the Holy City Municipality) and Sari Company, a leader in supply chain solutions, to form a unified digital platform for managing and organizing food supply chains in the Holy City.
Strategic context within Vision 2030
The launch of this platform comes at a crucial time, coinciding with the Kingdom's accelerated progress towards achieving the goals of Vision 2030, particularly the "Serving the Guests of God" program. The Kingdom aims to host 30 million Umrah and Hajj pilgrims annually by 2030, a goal that necessitates a robust logistical infrastructure and smart supply systems capable of handling this enormous demand. Makkah is a unique global model for crowd management, making the automation of supply chains an urgent necessity to ensure food sustainability and safety.
The importance of the platform for food security in the holy sites
The launch of "Mawrdi" is of paramount importance given the unique geographical and temporal characteristics of Mecca. The high demand during Hajj and Umrah seasons necessitates a precise balance between supply and demand to prevent food waste or shortages. The new platform serves as a vital link in the catering system, which meets the needs of over 1.8 million pilgrims during the season, in addition to millions of Umrah performers and visitors throughout the year. This digital transformation ensures the availability of high-quality food at competitive prices, while reducing reliance on paper-based and traditional transactions that may present operational challenges.
How the platform works and its technical features
The "Mawrdi" platform operates as an integrated B2B marketplace, connecting suppliers with central kitchens, catering companies, and other relevant entities within a unified digital environment. The platform offers advanced features including:
- Order management and real-time tracking of operations to ensure on-time delivery.
- Providing accurate data and analysis to support strategic decision-making for regulatory and commercial entities.
- Enabling suppliers to showcase their products, manage inventory and purchase orders electronically to increase market reach.
- Providing kitchens and catering companies with the opportunity to track supply chains and proof of delivery to ensure reliability.
Strengthening governance and transparency
The launch ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Makkah and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Balad Al-Ameen Company, Mr. Musaed Al-Dawood, along with several industry leaders. The platform primarily aims to enhance seasonal preparedness by providing real-time market insights, thereby improving coordination among stakeholders and implementing clear procurement and supply standards. This approach strengthens governance, transparency, and rapid response to any emergencies in the supply chain, positively impacting the Hajj and Umrah pilgrimage experience and improving operational efficiency for service providers.
