Honoring the entities participating in the awareness exhibition on the dangers of drugs in the Eastern Province

The Eastern Province Emirate's Diwan today (Monday) held a special ceremony honoring the entities that participated in the drug awareness exhibition, organized by the Da'wah and Guidance Association and the Community Awareness Center (Baseera), in cooperation with the Erada Mental Health Complex in Dammam. The ceremony was attended by the Governor of the Eastern Province, Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, who praised the efforts made in this vital field.

Broad participation and joint efforts

Fourteen government entities participated in organizing the exhibition, reflecting the close cooperation between various governmental and community sectors in combating the scourge of drugs. Engineer Hamed Al-Arfaj, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Basira Association for Prisons in the Eastern Province, delivered a speech emphasizing the important role the association plays in raising awareness among youth and the community about the dangers of drugs.

Al-Arfaj explained that the association's main programs focus on providing awareness programs and religious lectures aimed at warning young people against falling into the clutches of addiction. He also presented an overview of the exhibition's activities, which lasted for a full week and witnessed a large turnout from young men and women in the region, with the number of visitors exceeding 5,900.

Volunteering and strategic partnerships

The event's success was made possible by the participation of 150 volunteers, reflecting a strong sense of community and deep concern for the issue of combating drug abuse. Engineer Al-Arfaj also noted that the association has signed several partnerships with relevant organizations, most notably its collaboration with the General Directorate of Prisons in the Eastern Province to implement religious and awareness programs and activities within prisons.

These partnerships aim to provide intellectual and psychological rehabilitation for inmates and enable them to return to society as good and positive contributors.

Closing ceremony and honoring the participants

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Prince of the Eastern Province honored the participating entities and supporters of the awareness exhibition. This recognition comes in appreciation of the efforts made and the fruitful cooperation between the various parties to achieve the common goal of protecting society from the dangers of drugs and raising public awareness about this important issue.

Two drones attack the US embassy in Riyadh: Full details

The official spokesman for the Saudi Ministry of Defense announced today (Tuesday) that the US embassy building in the capital, Riyadh, was subjected to a hostile attack carried out by two drones, according to initial assessments made by the competent authorities immediately after the incident.

The official spokesperson explained the details of the damage caused by this attack, noting that the targeting resulted in a limited fire and minor material damage to the building's facilities, without any reported human casualties, reflecting the limited impact of the attack thanks to the safety measures in place.

Context of escalation and targeting of vital sites

This incident is not isolated from the security developments witnessed in the Kingdom in recent hours. This attack comes just one day after the Royal Saudi Air Defense Forces successfully intercepted and destroyed five explosive-laden drones that were attempting to target the vicinity of Prince Sultan Air Base in the Riyadh region. This base is considered one of the most important strategic military bases in the region, indicating repeated attempts to target military infrastructure.

Targeting global energy security

In a related development concerning threats to the Eastern Province, Saudi defenses also thwarted another attack involving two drones that attempted to target the Ras Tanura refinery. The targeting of Ras Tanura carries serious implications that extend beyond the local level, given that it houses one of the world's largest oil shipping ports, making any threat to it a direct threat to global energy supplies and the international economy, not just to the Kingdom's security.

Defense readiness and protection of diplomatic missions

These successive successes in thwarting attacks, whether in Riyadh or the Eastern Province, underscore the high level of readiness and efficiency of Saudi air defense systems in detecting and neutralizing aerial threats before they reach their targets. The attack on the US embassy also highlights a blatant violation of international norms and laws stipulating the protection of diplomatic missions and their exemption from conflict, as enshrined in the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.

The relevant authorities in the Kingdom continue to follow up on the investigations to gather all evidence related to the attack on the embassy, while emphasizing the Kingdom’s full commitment to protecting all civilian objects and diplomatic headquarters located on its territory against any potential terrorist threats.
