Environmentally friendly "spraying planes"
Protecting the marine and coastal environment is among the Kingdom's top priorities, as part of its commitment to international standards and promoting sustainability
Protecting the marine and coastal environment is a top priority for the Kingdom, in line with its commitment to international standards and promoting the sustainability of ecosystems. Among the most prominent methods the Kingdom employs to respond to oil spills in the marine environment are aerial surveillance using high-tech drones, helicopters, and spray aircraft. These methods and technologies are considered key environmental solutions for addressing the challenges posed by marine oil pollution.
The National Center for Environmental Compliance, in cooperation with a number of governmental and private entities, is working to test the efficiency of these aircraft and other technologies within hypothetical exercises to simulate oil spill incidents over large areas at sea and on the coasts.
To ensure a rapid response and contain the spread of pollution and affected areas, aircraft are used for various tasks, including quickly providing information over wide geographical areas. Spraying aircraft then take effective steps to combat the pollution, beginning by spraying dispersants that help break down hydrocarbon particles and accelerate their natural decomposition in the marine environment
Thus, these aircraft are one of the essential elements for dispersing pollution and reducing its danger in a short time before the effect extends to marine and coastal organisms, which contributes to maintaining the ecological balance.
These aircraft are considered an effective tool in dealing with environmental emergencies, as they are characterized by their ability to reach remote areas in record time, which enhances the Kingdom’s efforts to preserve its marine environment and protect it from pollution.
In the “Response 17” hypothesis, spray aircraft proved their effectiveness in the speed of response to marine oil pollution control operations, according to precise technical standards used to estimate the amount of materials required in pollution cases.
The exercise was carried out under the supervision of the National Center for Environmental Compliance, with the participation of 56 governmental, military and private entities, within the scope of the National Plan to Combat Oil Spills and Other Harmful Substances, which confirms the success of this type of technology, along with many other modern technologies, in protecting the marine and coastal environment in the Kingdom

The activities of the Al-Qadisiyah Ramadan Season 3 kicked off with a popular cooking competition and the Holy Quran recitation competitions, with the participation of 375 contestants, amidst a family atmosphere and exciting sporting competitions.

Al-Khobar Governorate is witnessing a vibrant social and cultural scene with the launch of the third edition of the Al-Qadisiyah Ramadan Festival, held this year under the slogan "Your Ramadan with Us." The culinary competition and traditional food displays are taking center stage, proving to be one of the most popular events for families, aiming to revive local traditions and strengthen social bonds during the holy month.
Cooking competition: A blend of authenticity and creativity
The cooking competition is led by renowned chef Fahad Al-Shuaibi, with the participation of a distinguished group of culinary figures including Ahmed Al-Hussain, Hani Al-Dosari, and Duha Al-Atishan. The competition is designed as an interactive platform that brings together amateurs and professionals, with the contests divided into two main sections to ensure diversity and inclusivity: the first is dedicated to home-style dishes, and the second to live cooking demonstrations in front of an audience at the event venue.
In an effort to highlight local identity, the home-style cooking competitions focused on two main dishes that grace the Saudi Ramadan table: traditional sweets and traditional rice dishes. This initiative aims to promote traditional cuisine that reflects the region's hospitality and culinary heritage, and to encourage younger generations to preserve these authentic recipes.
Quranic competitions: A competition within the realm of the Holy Book
Alongside the recreational activities, the final rounds of the Holy Quran competition, organized by the club in cooperation with the Eastern Province Holy Quran Memorization Society under the slogan "Building a Society that Lives by the Quran," have commenced. This competition holds profound spiritual significance, reflecting the role of sports clubs in activating social responsibility and nurturing young people.
The rigorous selection process resulted in 375 contestants qualifying for the final stage, distributed across five categories to ensure a level playing field. The first category includes 70 contestants, as does the second, while the third and fourth categories each have 80 participants. The fifth category, dedicated to recitation, features 75 contestants, reflecting the high level of interest and eagerness to compete in memorizing and reciting the Holy Quran.
Family-friendly atmosphere and comprehensive services
This year's Al Qadisiyah Festival is distinguished by its high level of organization, catering to the needs of visitors of all ages. The events area has become a favorite destination for families thanks to its comfortable seating, diverse hospitality services, and a food court offering a wide selection of popular dishes, fast food, and Ramadan beverages.
The organizing committee also added a technical entertainment dimension through the interactive “giant screen”, which not only broadcasts matches and exciting moments, but also allows the audience to participate in instant competitions and interactive questions, creating an atmosphere of fun and excitement among the attendees.
Sports excitement in the indoor championship
On the sports front, the “Zoho” Futsal Championship continues to generate excitement during the season’s nights, as Al-Thaqbah team succeeded in snatching the second qualifying ticket to the quarter-finals after defeating the “Oden Roastery” team with a score of 3-1, in a match that witnessed competitiveness and a large audience that interacted with its proceedings, thus confirming the season’s success in combining sports, culture, and entertainment at the same time.

Jordanian security warns residents near the US embassy in Amman
Jordanian Public Security issues precautionary instructions to residents around the US Embassy in Amman, calling for caution when hearing sirens and urging them to stay indoors and follow safety procedures.
The Jordanian Public Security Directorate issued important and urgent directives to citizens and residents living in the vicinity of the US Embassy in Amman, urging them to exercise extreme caution and take immediate safety precautions upon hearing the sirens. This announcement, as reported by the official Jordanian news agency Petra, reflects the security forces' commitment to the safety of citizens and public property.
The directorate emphasized in its statement a set of security protocols that must be followed precisely, most notably the necessity of remaining indoors and not leaving until any potential threat has passed, which is usually indicated by a single, continuous siren signaling the end of the danger. The instructions also stressed the importance of closing windows and staying away from them completely to avoid any injuries that might result from flying glass or shrapnel in the event of an emergency. Furthermore, drivers in the area were instructed to stop immediately, get out of their vehicles, and proceed to the nearest concrete building and take shelter near stairs or other fortified areas.
These measures coincide with a new security alert issued by the US Embassy in Jordan, which indicated potential security threats, prompting heightened readiness and the activation of standard protection protocols. The Public Security Directorate clarified that these measures are "precautionary and preventative" and aim to ensure public safety, emphasizing that they should not cause panic or fear among citizens, but rather require awareness and adherence to official instructions.
Sensitive regional and international context
These warnings are particularly significant given the current regional circumstances in the Middle East, where escalating geopolitical tensions could impact the security of diplomatic missions. The Abdoun area of Amman, where the US Embassy is located, is a highly sensitive security zone and is typically subject to heightened security measures due to the importance of the diplomatic missions residing there. This warning reflects Jordan's unwavering commitment to international agreements concerning the protection of diplomatic missions and the safety of their staff and citizens, as well as the protection of Jordanian citizens residing in the vicinity.
The importance of adhering to preventive instructions
Security and safety experts consider adherence to these instructions the first line of defense for civilians in emergencies. Staying away from windows significantly reduces the risk of injuries from the pressure of explosions or loud noises, and evacuating vehicles prevents traffic accidents that could result from panic and protects individuals from being in exposed areas. These proactive measures underscore the efficiency of Jordanian security forces in crisis management and their rapid response to security developments to ensure the stability of the home front.
