A journey behind the wheel: Mixed moments between father and son
Behind the wheel I sat, and to my right sat my father, relaxed and smiling, his eyes shining with a mixture of pride and regret. That moment between us was filled with mixed emotions; he looked ahead as if he saw something I couldn't.
In front of me was the hotel building from which my mother and sister would soon emerge. A few people were going in and out, but nothing seemed to warrant a closer look. I glanced quickly ahead, then back at my father, trying to understand what had so strongly affected him.

My sister had started her day in a bad mood because she was wearing the hijab against her will. Suddenly, she opened the back door forcefully and got into the car like one of the oppressed women in a drama film.
