The club's president, poet Hassan Al-Zahrani, explained that the forum's advisory committee, which includes Dr. Abdullah Al-Haidari, Dr. Maher Al-Rahili, short story writer Mohammed Al-Rashidi, and cartoonist Ayman Ya'an Allah Al-Ghamdi, has set the session titles to address: Satirical Literature: Concept, Implications, Sources, Thematic Trends of Satirical Literature in the Kingdom, Artistic Characteristics of Satirical Literature in the Kingdom, Levels of Influence and Impact between Local Satirical Writing Experiences and their Arab Counterparts, The Presence of Satirical Literature in Local Press, Past and Present, The Impact of Modern Technological Templates and Social Media on the Emergence of New Forms of Satirical Literature Locally, and The Semiotics of the Silent Image in Local Satirical Cartoons.
Al-Zahrani revealed that the club received over 70 submissions for the forum, and 27 research papers and working papers were selected. He noted that the club dedicated a testimonial session to the creators in this field, namely the writers Mohammed Al-Rashidi and Ali Al-Rubaie, and prepared a video about satirical cartoons.
He pointed out that the club launched 4 books that were printed specifically for the forum, namely: The Dictionary of Saudi Writers by Dr. Abdullah Al-Haidari and Dr. Maher Al-Rahili, Forgive Us (Saad Al-Thuwai’s satirical articles) by the poet Khadija Al-Sayed, Satire in the Literature of Ali Al-Omair by Dr. Mar’i Al-Wadi’i, and Satire in the Novels of Ghazi Al-Qusaibi by the researcher Asma Muhammad Saleh.
