The “Nusk” app achieves global success
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced that the “Nusk” – the official digital platform for serving pilgrims – has achieved remarkable success, exceeding 30 million downloads. This figure represents a significant increase compared to 2024, when it had only 12 million downloads, signifying growth of over 150% in less than a year.
The app serves pilgrims from over 190 countries worldwide. Notably, more than 90% of its users are from outside Saudi Arabia, reflecting the app's global importance in facilitating Hajj and Umrah journeys.
Integrated digital services
The Nusk app offers a wide range of integrated digital services covering all stages of the Hajj and Umrah journey. From planning to returning home, users can book a visit to the Prophet's Mosque (Al-Rawdah Al-Sharifah), perform Umrah, and travel on the Haramain High-Speed Railway. The app also provides maps, flight and hotel bookings, enrichment tour programs, and much more.
This integration with the various entities operating within the Hajj and Umrah system ensures a smooth and comfortable experience for visitors, making their journey easier and more convenient.
Expanding the scope of services
The app's role wasn't limited to travel services; it expanded to include services that cater to users' daily lives, such as the Holy Quran, supplications and remembrances, prayer times, and the direction of the Qibla. These additions make the app a daily companion for Muslims worldwide.
Improving user experience
The ministry is preparing to launch a major update to the app aimed at significantly improving the user experience. This will be achieved by developing a smoother and more user-friendly interface that meets the highest international standards in technology and design.
This step aims to make Nusk the world’s leading digital Islamic platform, enhancing its position as a key tool for Muslims in organizing their religious and daily life journeys.
Impact on society and the future
The success of the Nusk app is not limited to numbers alone; it extends to its positive impact on the lives of millions of Muslims worldwide. Thanks to this advanced technology, Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages have become more organized and easier than ever before.
A practical example: Imagine a pilgrim who can now book everything related to their journey via their smartphone without having to deal with the complexities of traditional travel. This kind of innovation makes life easier and makes the religious experience more spiritual and comfortable.
Nusk is more than just a technological application; it's a digital bridge connecting Muslims to their holy sites in a way that was impossible before the modern digital age. As it continues to be developed and improved, we can expect further enhancements that will make life easier and more connected for Muslims everywhere.

Human Resources sets the date for the 2026 Founding Day holiday for both sectors
The Ministry of Human Resources announced that Sunday, February 22, 2026, is an official holiday for Founding Day, which includes the public, private and non-profit sectors, in celebration of the anniversary of the founding of the Saudi state.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has officially announced that next Sunday, February 22, 2026, will be an official holiday for all state employees, on the occasion of celebrating the glorious "Founding Day" anniversary.
The ministry explained in its statement that this holiday includes all employees in the public government sector, as well as those working in private sector establishments, in addition to employees of the non-profit sector, in implementation of the generous royal orders that set this date as an annual date to celebrate the anniversary of the founding of the first Saudi state.
The historical depth of the founding day
The celebration of Founding Day commemorates the Saudi state's more than three-century-long existence, symbolizing the Kingdom's deep historical and cultural roots. This anniversary dates back to 1727 CE (1139 AH), when Imam Muhammad bin Saud assumed power in Diriyah, thus establishing the first Saudi state, which laid the foundations for security, stability, and unity in the Arabian Peninsula after centuries of fragmentation and disunity.
The difference between Founding Day and National Day
It is important to distinguish between Founding Day and National Day; Founding Day (February 22) celebrates the beginning of the reign of Imam Muhammad bin Saud and the establishment of the first state, while National Day (September 23) celebrates the anniversary of the unification of the modern Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by the founding King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud - may God have mercy on him - in 1932 AD. Both represent pivotal milestones in the history and development of the Arabian Peninsula.
Manifestations of celebration and national importance
This holiday holds immense importance as it strengthens national identity and connects current generations to their rich historical roots. The Kingdom typically witnesses extensive cultural and heritage events on this day, with citizens wearing traditional clothing that reflects the diversity of the Kingdom's regions, and artistic performances and traditional markets that recreate the lives of their ancestors during that era.
The approval of this holiday for all sectors (public, private and non-profit) confirms the inclusiveness of the occasion for all segments of society, and is an opportunity to strengthen national cohesion and draw inspiration from the stories of struggle and success written by imams, kings and citizens throughout history to build this proud nation.
